Rongoaa Maaori refers to a wide range of traditional Maaori healing methodologies, including holistic aspects of mind, body and spirit. We offer Mirimiri, Whakawhiti Koorero and Karakia, providing a holistic approach to healing based on recognising the needs and well-being of an individual while supporting them in improving their quality of life.

I was trained in the practice of mirimiri and rongoaa by my tuupuna at a very early age and continued that journey learning and practicing relaxation, reflexology, acupressure points and sports massage. I have been providing mirimiri to our people for over 45years.
Alongside Health Through the Marae I acknowledge the guiding principles and values of Ngaati Te Ata, of significance the principles of Kaitiakitanga and the Mauri of our natural and external environment.
Mauri is the life force present in all things living, it binds the physical and spiritual elements of all things. Without Mauri things cannot survive.
Practices have been developed over many centuries to ensure the positive essence of one’s Mauri flourishes. Observing these practices involves the ethic and exercise of Kaitiakitanga.
Kaitiakiatanga underpins everything that Ngaati Te Ata and Health Through the Marae strives to do and is inextricably linked to Tino Rangatiratanga, one’s self autonomy. Through whakawhiti koorero, hui, wananga we endeavour to share these things.
